Hand Knotted Degrade Beige-Grey Rug by Gan Rugs

This is the beige and gray dual tone rug from the Degrade collection, a design by Patricia Urquiola in which the hand-knotting technique is essential to achieve a smooth transition from one color to another. It is a simple design, based solely on a color gradient. However, its subtle evolution from one tone to another, without striping or sharp differences, requires a delicate and thoroughly manual manufacturing process.

This piece works well on any type of flooring, but thanks to its coloring it is especially indicated on dark floors that could use a little brightness. The Degrade series also includes the Petrol-Wine model, which features a gradient that goes from wine tones to petroleum blue. Both are available in three sizes and are made entirely with 100% virgin wool. The hand-knotted technique is a manual rug-making method that allows for extremely detailed designs, precisely because rugs are made knot by knot. It is a very laborious technique and, consequently, it offers great flexibility. Bearing this peculiarity in mind, we at GAN create hand-knotted designs with both uniform patterns as well as with apparent randomness.
