Raw collection from GAN Rugs and designed by Borja García, is a masterful exercise on how to achieve a lot with very little, looking for maximum expressiveness in two very basic materials with the intention of translating their qualities into a simple design. The series consists of rugs, poufs of two sizes and cushions made by hand using manual looms.
Borja García trained as an industrial designer and architect at the Cardenal Herrera-CEU University in Valencia, and he is a co-founder, together with Laura Ros, of Made studio. Prior to the launch of this Valencian office, specialized in architecture and design, he worked independently and at other studios, such as Nazca and Enproyecto Arquitectura.
Throughout his career, he has tackled projects of all kinds, ranging from furniture design, products and small decorative objects to residential, commercial and ephemeral architecture. His proposals are characterized by a surprising balance between aesthetic expression and sobriety, a complex intermediate point between two opposites that Borja García solves with exceptional skill.
