Glaoui tumbuctu colors rug by GAN Rugs

This is the Tumbuctú rug from the Glaoui collection, a piece available in two sizes and made using a complex artisanal method that alternates three types of techniques. The different textures and volumes of its motifs are accomplished through hand-knotting, flat weaving and embroidery -a laborious method of Moroccan origin from which the collection takes its name.

This model is the most colorful version of Tumbuctú, woven with 100% virgin wool yarns in green, lilac and indigo tones, among others. As an accent, the rug presents original braided fringes.

Glaoui tumbuctu colors rug. Traditional Moroccan rugs are combined with innovative textures to, momentarily, lose their flatness as they evoke the Atlas mountain range. Reveries that conjure up images of the sea, of an all-encompassing Mediterranean lifestyle. This rug brings to mind expert hands, toiling away at traditional looms as they weave dreams of warm, faraway lands. The Glaoui collection includes a series of rugs and poufs that combine, in an eclectic and harmonious way, a varied style of patterns and textures. A complex traditional Moroccan technique brought to a different aesthetic dimension by designer Sandra Figuerola, who was inspired by the colors, graphics and topographies of African and Indian origin for her motives.
